The Sun Reveals
I got in my car on a sunny day and was ready to drive. It was perfect weather with clear skies. Then the sun, high in the east, shined right into my windshield. I reacted by not staring directly into the sun, but it didn’t matter. I could barely see through the filth that had gathered on my windshield. I didn’t notice the bug guts and dirt the day before because the sun was behind the clouds. My window looked fine, until it was placed in the light.
The Son Reveals
Our lives may be the same sometimes. It looks like we are living ‘good’ lives, that compare favorably to some around us. We seem clean to others and may even think of ourselves as pretty good people. But what happens when the lights hits us? What would people see when our hurts and mistakes and imperfections are lit up by God’s perfect light?
It’s Our Choice
We have two choices. We can cower in the corner until the light goes away (Not a good choice for those keeping track at home). Or, we can get out of the car (repent and give up control) and allow God to show us what needs cleaned. He’s the only one that can clean us, but we have to be willing participants.
