When the Hard Days Come

When bad days come, your problems feel worse, people seem to care less, and all you want is a little sympathy from someone, literally anyone. Friend, take a deep breath. Let it out. And let the tears roll down your face if they need to. Because it’s okay. Let me be the one to tell you that you’re doing better than you think.

A Simple Gospel of Love

In the quietness, I hear him whisper:

Child, rest. Lay your troubles down before me and lift your head to see my face. I am delighted by you: my most precious creation. I did not create you to worry or fear. I created you in hopes that you would trust me again and again; each waking day. My days for you are full of life.

A Kingdom Mindset

Sister, Brother, whoever is on the other side of these words, Paul encourages us to be of one mind. To share hope in spite of our hardship. He was in prison, bruised and fighting for the Gospel when he wrote the book of Philippians. Nothing could stop him from sharing hope. Not his past. Not his present. That alone, can put our mind into perspective. His mind was fixed on Heaven. His problems weren’t about him. Paul realized Jesus was motivated by love and moved by compassion toward others. We live in a culture that is often idolizes “self”. And because of that, we can easily lose sight of our purpose to also be motivated by love.

Freedom is Yours

Friend, I encourage you to love someone in spite of your difficulty, today. Be moved by compassion. Maybe it’s simply buying someone’s coffee, paying for their gas, or taking care of their grocery bill. Maybe its giving flowers to someone who seems lonely or encouraging a momma who’s kids are crying. Look for an opportunity to give and your eyes will become opened to Heaven’s perspective. A simple act of unconditional love for someone who doesn’t believe they’re noticed. They are. And you are too.

I promise you’ll receive something much greater than you are expecting. It’s a secret place of freedom for your heart. A place you’ll only want more of.

Philippians 2:1-4 says,
“If you’ve gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if his love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart, if you care— then do me a favor: Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends. Don’t push your way to the front; don’t sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don’t be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.
