What is Passion

Passion exists to glorify God by uniting students in worship, prayer and justice for spiritual awakening in this generation.

From its start in 1995, the Passion movement has had a singular mission—calling students from campuses across the nation and around the world to live for what matters most—the name and renown of Jesus. They believe in this generation and are watching God use them to change the climate of faith around the globe.

Since the first gathering in 1997, Passion has had the privilege of encountering millions of students and 18-25 year olds, a sea of young people whose lives have been transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit. Their voice is getting louder as they rise, united as a generation, bringing hope and light to the world.

Since 2007, believing worship + justice are two sides of the same coin, students at Passion have generously given over $18 million to 70 amazing partner organizations around the world.

Passion is more than music. More than events. Passion is a generation living for His Name.

The wave is growing into a global awakening. And over the past three days, Lima was invited to join the movement.

Passion: Livestreamed in Lima

Michael Green is the student pastor at Lima Baptist Temple and held Passion 2018 Online Experience on January 1-3rd! Though LBT usually takes a group to the actual event in Atlanta, this was their first year of opening their doors and hosting it from the big screen. Green feels like it was a great opportunity for young believers to get away from everything in the world for a couple of days just to spend time with other believers and be refreshed in their relationship with Jesus.

And these last few days brought exactly that.

Abby Neville attended passion in Atlanta for the first time last year and this was her first time watching it live from Lima. She said, “It was refreshing to see top speakers and teachers gathering together in one place.”

After listening to speaker, Christine Caine speak about her own adversity in life, Abby was so encouraged to live with confidence that she can live unashamed because adversity doesn’t define her either:

“I believe the love of God is for everyone and that others need to hear it.”

The most important thing Abby took away from the conference is to be still praised God through it all.”

She encourages others to attend the event next year, but if they can’t physically go, she says watching it online is the next best thing!
