Park Hopper

Disney Parks offers something called the park hopper. I can see the value of visiting multiple parks in one day if you are on a time crunch (2 days to get through 4 parks, for instance). Or, if there’s just not that much that interests you at 2 places (ee did Animal Kingdom and Epcot in one day because of that).

But my feeling is that a lot of people pay the extra money for the park hopper so that they can decide, in the moment, what they want to do. What feels good.

Using the Park Hopper

It’s 1:37pm and I’m at Magic Kingdom, but there’s a Fastpass for ‘Soarin’ at Epcot at 3:30pm. Let’s go do that. But that traveling takes time, and many times frustrations take place in the travel.

This happens frequently. Sometimes folks plan these things ahead of time too, but I’m of the belief that you end of losing time and losing out on the total experience.

Community

In my experience, church hopping suffers the same consequences, In trying to find a ‘church that fits them’, the church hopper is losing out on relationship and support of the body of Christ. It’s constantly a process of looking for something, rather than a chance to be found and loved and accepted.

Hebrews 10:25 speaks to the power of living in one Faith Community:

And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

Notice the ‘us’? Do you see the ‘our’? How about the ‘encourage one another’?

All of that is missed when a church home is never found. I encourage you to find a Church home and plant yourself there. Fruitful gardens tend to grow the best crops.
