I have this amazing face wash. I’m serious. It’s incredible! Every time I use it, I think it will be the last time. I squeeze the soap out and it seems to extinguish its last reserve. Then I put it back on the shelf. The next day, I am always amazed to find the bottle fully inflated and, wouldn’t you know it, when I give it a squeeze, one more squirt of face wash comes out.
Elisha
It’s been happening for weeks now and it reminds me of the Old Testament story about oil. Take a look at 2 Kings 4.
Trust
I love this story! I love how Elisha trusts God with the miraculous and I love how the woman trusts Elisha with, what may seem, a silly task. The tale brings a few questions to mind in my own life. Maybe you can answer them too.
- Am I in tune with the Holy Spirit enough to recognize ways to meet the needs of those around me that need help?
- Do I do what I believe God is telling me to do, even if it seems crazy?
- Do I ever stop ‘bringing the jar’s prematurely?
- How does God want to re-enact this story in my life?
