Meet the Acts 44 Team

Every good ministry is staffed with team members whose passions are to bring the gospel message to those who need it most. We're thankful to have such a team here. It's the dedication and commitment of the Acts 44 team that allows us to Witness the Living Word each and every day.

Some team members have been with us for a while and others just joined. But beyond that, each person has a unique story to tell. Discover this and more by visiting the stories of the team members. Can you find the staff member who…

How many met their spouse at TV44?

Has never been on an airplane?

Serving as President of WTLW TV-44 since 1997, Kevin has been a mainstay at the station since 1984 when he came to Christ through the ministry and first served as a volunteer. It was through his work here (at the Mercer County Fair while running the TV-44 promotional booth) that Kevin met his wife Lisa. Together, they have raised five sons who have made TV-44 a huge part of their family life.

Kevin’s role here is diverse: some days you’ll find him in the studio recording broadcast messages while other days he’s taking care of business matters. Partner relationships and writing are some of his special skills, and his ability to bring responsibilities into sync helps to maintain smooth station operations.

And yet he’s contemplative. Kevin listens to his team, appreciating their various backgrounds and thought processes before making the decision. This attitude is reflected in his life verse, Galatians 2:20, where scripture reminds us to crucify ourselves and follow Christ. Kevin’s humbleness is embodied by Paul’s words.

Kevin has spent most all of his life in Allen County, although he did once tour major Hollywood sets to learn about set design. Owing to his contemplative nature, Kevin once considered being a doctor; however, his degree in organizational management from Bluffton University serves him well as he leads TV-44 into the next phase of the station’s mission.

Jennifer Beck

Director of Marketing, Anchor & Producer

Jennifer Beck is a mom, wife, grandma, a swim parent, a homeschooling teacher, an athlete, a health-food junkie, and a collector of clutter (last one, not by choice) as well as a TV broadcaster. She originally planned to be an architect, and has a love for historical buildings; but she chose broadcasting because, quite frankly, she wasn’t a fast enough runner to make it to the Olympics and thought a TV career might still get her there.

Broadcasting hasn’t gotten her to the Olympics, but Jennifer does have a long list of favorite memories which include interviewing Charlton Heston, covering a debate between Jay Sekulow and Patricia Ireland, and attending the Big 10 Coaches Clinic (which included an interview with Joe Paterno).

All of those pale in comparison to the main thing she has received through her career: a life-saving relationship with Jesus Christ. Jennifer interned with TV 44 in the early 90s and that is when she truly saw Jesus in action. The people at TV 44 lived their lives in ways that made her stop and analyze her own: soon she, too, became sold out to living a life for Jesus.

Jennifer spent several years as a prime time news anchor elsewhere, but “went home” at the end of 2001 to be a stay at home mom and homeschooling teacher. This led to a career as a speaker and convention coordinator, but in late 2011 God called the Beck family back to Lima and Jennifer returned to TV 44.

In addition to on-air talent, producing, and videography work, Jennifer is the Director of Marketing at TV 44, coordinates the auction, and if the sports department is shorthanded, you just might see her in one of her favorite places: on the sidelines of a Friday night high school sporting event.

Jennifer lives her life according to the principles outlined in Numbers 9:15-23. Take a moment and read it. Is your cloud settled or is it lifted? Contact Jennifer if you have questions about this!

Kelli Getz

Program Manager

As our Program Manager, Kelli is responsible for finding, and scheduling the programs we air on WTLW. The Christian and family-based programming you see on TV 44 is a result of Kelli’s strategic planning of what shows are on the air and what time they are scheduled. Co-workers know her as someone always willing to listen but also share a good story, connecting with those around her through conversation.

Kelli joined TV 44 in 1989, and by working here she met her eventual husband, Wayne. They wed in 1992 and have two children, Jessica and Chase. Family is important to Kelli and this is reflected in her favorite book of the Bible, Ruth. The story speaks to Kelli as a demonstration that God can use whoever He pleases however He pleases.

Her faith is reflected in her most common weekend activity: going to church with Wayne. Besides that, she also enjoys reading, attending grandkids sporting events, and riding bikes. Kelli has lived in a variety of places including California and England -- attending 9 different schools between kindergarten and high school.

Anchor, Reporter, Producer

Patrick Kamler has spent over 20 years in broadcasting and communication. Originally from Chicago, Patrick lived in Mississippi, Virginia, and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, before settling in Ohio in 1991. He moved to Lima in 2004 and rejoined WTLW in 2009. Prior to Lima, Patrick worked at WJER radio in Dover, Ohio, where he was part of a team that was recognized as Outstanding Sports Operation in the state three times in five years.

After a nine-year stint as a play-by-play announcer, Patrick has come to the desk as Executive Producer and co-anchor of Sports Report. You can also see Patrick contributing to other TV-44 and WOSN programs. In addition to his television work, Patrick is a licensed pastor and preaches on a weekly basis, a fact his congregation at Westminster Christian Church is occasionally grateful for.

Patrick lives in Lima with his wife of six years, Megan. His hobbies involve working out, reading, gaming and photography. He has never once turned down gift cards from Chipotle, Chick-Fil-A or Best Buy. His favorite scripture is Joshua 1:9 – Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.

Wayne Getz

Production Manager

Since 1988 there has been a constant face in our video production department: Wayne Getz. As the Production Manager for TV 44, Wayne spends his time shooting b-roll, editing video, and directing both our ministry programs as well as our sporting events.

TV 44 has had a major impact on Wayne’s life: he met his wife Kelli (who also works here) in 1989 and they married in 1992. Together they have two kids, Jessica and Chase. Wayne lived in Pittsburgh during his formative years, becoming a fan of the Steelers who he still roots for. Although riding his bike is one of his favorite activities today, when he was a very young child his mom actually enrolled him in tap dance lessons.

Nevertheless, riding his bike is something Wayne is known for around the TV 44 offices: often in the spring and summer he’ll ride it into work, getting a healthy workout before the day even begins. But spiritual health is also important to Wayne, as you’ll most often find him at church on the weekend.

Indeed, this mindset carries over to Wayne’s life verses: Romans 6:20-23. Just as Paul recognize the importance of being free from sin, Wayne embodies this scripture passage in all he does.

Plain and simple, Vicki loves working for TV 44. Her determination to support the station is complimented by her motivational mindset. Wanda Neuman

Receptionist & Administrative Assistant

Having a passion for your job is important, and our receptionist, Wanda Neuman, has one for hers. She’s been with TV 44 since 1984 and enjoys not only current and former co-workers, but also every guest who walks through our doors. She spends her time doing various clerical and administrative tasks, as well as, whatever else needs done that day.

Wanda’s love for God is mirrored in her life verse, Psalm 27:10. In this psalm of David, Wanda is reminded of God’s faithfulness. This faithfulness is visible throughout Wanda’s life: church and church activities are favorites, though enjoying family, time with friends, Bible studies, a good book or traveling here and across the sea are also up there for her.

Wanda has only relocated once in her life: when she moved out of her parents’ house and into the home she has lived in with her husband, Jack, for over 50 years. Together they have two great sons, two beautiful daughters-in-law, four wonderful grandchildren and now, a beautiful granddaughter-in-law. After graduating from Wapakoneta High School, Wanda attended Ohio University and Ohio State and still enjoys cheering for the Buckeyes. And, perhaps, an unusual quirk: she doesn’t eat any fruit. However, she especially enjoys the cuisine of Casa Lu AL -- one of her favorite local restaurants.

WTLW TV 44 made its first broadcast in 1982. Since then, one member of our team has been here the whole time: Michele Wassink. A graduate of Bath High School and attended Lima Technical College, Michele has been in the Allen County area her entire life. But, this doesn’t mean she doesn’t like to travel: indeed, she’s been on 4 of the 7 continents (though she has yet to visit Europe) and loves to visit the beach.

In her free time, you’ll often find Michele spending her days at soccer games or catch a relaxing symphony performance. As an introvert, the call to being a pastor’s wife may have come as a bit of a shock to her -- especially since her husband Joe didn’t feel that call until later in life. Married in 1990, they have four kids: Lincoln, Micah, Kaylee, and Alin.

Michele finds comfort in her favorite verse, Zephaniah 3:17, knowing that the Lord delights in her brings her great joy. She is thankful for the Lord’s provision in her life, including TV 44. She has loved working here and developing friendships through her service to the ministry. Also, she met Joe here, so in that regard Michele believes that she couldn’t have asked for a better place to work. She thanks God for TV44 - not only for herself, but for the community it serves.
