Points of LIGHT

We talked about ‘Light’ this morning at our Columbus Grove Coaches Group. Jesus said in John 12:46,

“I have come as a light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me would not remain in darkness.”

A dim light

One of our coaches gave a great example of this. He said that the lights in the hallways are being replaced and you never really noticed how dim they were until they got new lights. “We just thought the dim lights were normal,” he said.

Life can be like that as well. Some people don’t realize they are walking in darkness because it has become normal to them. Just like when I get up in the middle of the night. At first, I can’t see. But then, my eyes adjust and I am comfortable walking around my house in the dark. We get use to whatever amount of life is in our life, for better or for worse.

Normalcy

If we aren’t connecting to Jesus on a daily basis, our lives can dim and that can become ‘normal.’ Life can seem more meaningless during these times because all we can see id ourselves and the things affecting us. Let’s allow the ‘new normal’ to be a blinding brightness that is Jesus light shining through us to a world that, many times, doesn’t even realize that they are living in the dark.

It all starts with being in the light.

But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. — 1 John 1:7
