One recent morning, Anna rushed into my room. She had woken up early from a bad dream.
“I was falling off the edge of the earth,” she told me in a panicked voice.
“That won’t happen,” I assured her. “The earth is round. You can’t fall off the edge”
“I love you Daddy!” she replied immediately.
And just like that, the fear was gone.
Words from the Father
Words from a trusted Father, who loves her, gave my 6-year-old peace.
Words from our trusted Father who loves us, should do the same.
Psalm 56:3-4 says,
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
In God, whose word I praise—
in God I trust and am not afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?”
In a world where truth is sometimes hard to find, I find myself needing a grounding that only comes from Scriptures like these.
